Xeraco, a destination of sea and mountains
Xeraco has one of the most valued natural beaches on the Mediterranean coast. It has an area of sand of almost three kilometers topped by a dune cord with native flora and fauna that allow you to enjoy by the sea a protected, accessible, clean and excellently cared for natural environment.
The beach has been awarded uninterruptedly since 1988 with the Blue Flag, and since 2017 with a Blue Trail that runs through the vicinity of the lower course of the Río Vaca.
In addition, it complies with the ISO 14001 Environmental Certification and the Q for Tourist Quality. Throughout the year there is a wide range of sports, cultural, recreational and festive activities that multiply in the summer.
It has a forest area that occupies more than half of its 20 km2 of municipal term. The Massís del Mondúver, with more than 60 km of signposted trails, together with its Marjal -with a wide biodiversity of aquatic fauna and flora- and the Dune de la Safor that protects the urban area of ??the beach, constitute three natural elements of great interest and which are classified as Special Conservation Areas by the Natura 2000 Network. Despite having a high level of environmental protection, these areas can be enjoyed with the family on foot, horseback or bicycle.
Within this framework, Xeraco presented its new route program "Muntanyes mirant la mar" a year ago. A new tourism initiative that seeks to offer people who visit the municipality new experiences through fascinating natural spaces such as the Marjal or the bird watching point.
The rice, vegetables and seasonal fruits guarantee a gastronomic offer that includes traditional dishes such as "les coques de dacsa, l'arròs al forn", or the typical Valencian paellas. The beach bars on the sand and a few meters from the seashore complete the gastronomic and leisure offer.
